About the Program
The Green Loan Program is implemented by the National Mortgage Company with financial support from the Agence Française de Développement. The program aims to stimulate energy-efficient residential renovations, construction of single-family houses, and the acquisition of high energy-efficiency class appartments in Armenia. It specifically targets low and middle-income families. Under the program, selected partner banks and credit organizations provide medium and long-term housing loans.
Renovation loans qualify as green if at least 90% of the loan amount is invested in energy efficiency measures. For single-family house construction projects, at least the roof and walls of the house must be insulated, and energy-efficient front doors and windows must be installed in order for the project to be classified as green. Multi-apartment buildings must have an energy passport and an energy efficiency label of at least B for an apartment to qualify as a green investment.
Detailed terms and available loan types under the Green Loan Program are provided on the National Mortgage Company’s website. Additionally, the list of partner financial institutions is available below and on the Company’s website.
This web-based tool is designed to assess project eligibility, conduct Environmental and Social (E&S) screening, and evaluate projected energy savings and CO2 emission reductions. The tool was developed in cooperation with the GOPA AFC GmbH with financial support from KfW.
